What's the difference between broadloom and carpet tiles?
If you don't know what broadloom is it's a wall to wall carpet that typically comes in rolls. They're hard to carry hard to move and hard to fit. They're just hard work. ESPECIALLY if you're attempting some DIY by yourself!
Some may say carpet tiles are out of fashion but the thing about fashion is that everything comes full circle (let's hope perms don't make a come back though). Carpet tiles typically come in 50cm x 50cm squares in boxes of 12 - 20. So they're easily manageable boxes to move rather than a giant roll that will send you tumbling down the stairs trying to drag it up.
Are carpet tiles easy to fit?
SO easy to fit. We've seen a lot of you in lockdown fitting them yourself with a bit of our tackifier. You've all said you're no professional carpet fitter but you found it quite easy! Fitting carpet tiles over broadloom means you don't have to clear the whole room if you don't want to which is great if you have lots of heavy furniture. Watch our video below on how to fit them if you're not sure.
Are carpet tiles environmentally friendly?
Think about how much waste is produced from a roll of carpet compared to carpet tiles, especially if you've got an odd shaped room, that's a lot of cutting! With the off cuts of carpet tiles, you can make cute coasters or door mats.
Take a look at some of our customer's own fitting jobs, well done guys!
