Simple interior design ideas to make yourself want to stay at home this Winter
During the pandemic when lock down was a thing and even now where we are working at home much more, we are noticing more and more things that need to be done in the house that perhaps we didn't notice before! However, house renovations can be super pricey! So I'm here to tell you some simple & quick ideas to update your space for winter. Keep Reading.
CLEAN UP YOUR SPACE
This may sound super obvious and not a tip but you would be suprised how much a clean space makes a difference. Especially if you're working from home, a clean space = a clear mind! Why not shoosh up those pillows, re-arrange your coffee table and get rid of any unwanted clutter, even if that means chucking it in the attic for now!
USE WHITE COLOURS FOR SMALL SPACES
This tip is great if you live in a small room. White colors give you the impression that your room is bigger than it is. You can white-ify your room pretty cheap, you can try to use white bed linen, paint the walls white, if painting it’s not for you, you can try use wallpapers, you can get budget wallpapers in B&M. I found wallpapers a very convenient idea if you want to do quick and simple changes in the interior design, or if you don’t mind investing some more, you can try to find some white furniture.
USE SOME PLANTS!
Plants are now a staple for the home. You can get real or fake. They can help de-stress and real plants are the best air purifiers. Green leave plants gives some colour to a white space and if you're wanting to 'winter up' your home, how about going for orange and rich tone plants and leaves for that autumn vibe. Some plants that I recommend for interior design are spider plants, peperomia, or hanging plants as they require less space.
SWITCH UP YOUR PILLLOWS
To add that cosy autumn touch and add colour into your home why not change your pillow cases to orange colours and match your plants to your pillows!
TRY AROMATHEREPY
Aromatherapy is one of the simple home interior ideas you can incorporate. It gives any space a special energy and it can also help you sleep better. First, you can try some essential oils and burn it with candles that smell nice. The lavender essential oil is especially good to help sleeping and tea-tree oil is another good one as it is anti-bacterial.
In case you don’t want to use candles you can also try essential oils with air diffusers, you can get these on amazon and in most stores! Who doesn't want their home smelling gorgeous!
Good winter flavours are - Cinnamon, Apple Pie, Cranberry, Giongerbread and Spiced Apple.
