As you already know, sound is measured in decibels and us lazy humans shorten this value to dB. You can see where this is going, right? Yep, you guessed it - ‘dBack’ has been stolen from science and we think it’s pretty ingenious actually.

The Belgian brainiacs over at Modulyss acknowledged how instrumental background sound and excess noise is when it comes to impacting productivity and wellbeing, then set about creating a flooring solution to combat the cons.

A dBack tile = pile material + standard secondary backing + an extra 800g layer of polyester felt. This felt dBack has replaced an 85kg fleece layer so it comes as no surprise that dBack products are 50% better at sucking up the surplus sound under scrutiny. Fitting guide

Carpet tiles are quite simply, the best thing since sliced bread. They’re creatively diverse, incredibly versatile and super easy to maintain and replace.

Ensure the floor underneath is clean, dry and free of debris.
Make sure your tiles are all present and correct
Get all the tools you need plus an adhesive if you’re using one.
Turn off any underfloor heating.
Establish the right installation method for your chosen style.
Find the centre of the room and work outwards from this point.
Place each tile in position and press down firmly.
Cut edge tiles accordingly and slot into place.
