We might have built our home in the land of The Beatles and the mighty Liverpool Football Club but the DCTUK magic is spread much further and wider than the nooks and crannies of North West England, you know. This year we’ve already sent our carpet tiles as far as sunny Malta but we do have a particularly close bond with many a business Down South and we were chuffed to be adding Morgans Hotel Group to our London-based Christmas card list. Keep reading to find out more about how we helped MHG add the perfect finishing touches to their swanky cinema-come-function room…
Just to fill you in before we go any further - the Morgans Hotel Group is a global top-dog when it comes to boutique hotels and the most contemporary and luxurious hospitality destinations. The group has four main arms: the Delano Brand, the Hudson Brand, the Originals Brand and the Mondrian brand, all of which have touched down on different patches of Planet Earth, from Istanbul to New York. MHG is an innovative and design-led company with laser-like vision, just like ourselves, so you can imagine how chuffed we were when the Executive Housekeeper of Mondrian London, Shahnawaz, got in touch.
In some cases, we’re required to work from scratch and help the client find the perfect tile for their requirements, just like we did for Eddarbridge Land Developments. Other times, a customer will come to us looking to match a tile that they already have in a particular space and this was the case for the Mondrian London. Shahnawaz informed our Sales & Operations Manager, James that he was looking for Paragon Maestro38 carpet tiles to complete a cutting-edge interior project at the hotel so we came up with the goods (as always) and sent a swatchbook his way for double-checking purposes. Before long we had over 1000 Maestro38 tiles, in the colour Deep Blue, on their merry way to their new Thames-side home.
The tiles were to be installed in the hotel’s stunning Studio 2, which manifests as a versatile event space for 275 guests and a contemporary cinema space (pictured above). As you probably know by now, we also offer a Nationwide Fitting Service for installations of over 50m2 and were happy to provide our Uplift, Dispose & Fit expertise to these guys. We sent one of our locally-based fitters and his team into the location to take up the old flooring, dispose of the mess and then lay the brand new Paragon tiles to professional perfection.
Even though we can’t take credit for the original choice, Paragon Maestro38 is a great contender for a buzzing hospitality space like Studio 2. Constructed using reinforced Antron Nylon fibres, this luxurious range is comfortable underfoot and will create a warm inviting ambience. Paragon tiles are also super durable so won’t damage easily, even under the strain of dancing shoes and popcorn spillages. At £8.19 per tile, Paragon Maestro38 is one of our more pricey options but if you’re looking for an almost-identical alternative for your own interior project, give the Modulyss Cambridge product page a visit while you’re here.
