Every single day another 7 young people between the tender ages of 13 and 24 hear the words nobody every wants hear as they are diagnosed with a form of cancer.
That's 7 young people too many so when Sian from Teenage Cancer Trust came into DCT HQ to chat to us about the vital work her charity does to offer support to these vulnerable youngsters, we just had to get involved.
The wonderful work of TCT
With the help of various partners, companies, brands and generous donators across the country, the Teenage Cancer Trust works tirelessly to provide effected young people with the essential sense of normality that they may be missing out on as a result of their illness.
TCT provides physical and psychological support for the youngsters and their loved ones during this difficult time through access to advanced treatment but also through regular events and specialist units where they can go to relax, hang out with those on a similar journey and feel the warmth of the network of people who care.
With one of these incredible units just a stones throw from our Liverpool City Centre at Alder Hey Children’s Hospital (see snap above), teenage cancer is always going to be close to home - literally - so we want to do anything we can to offer our support.
How we plan to hit our £10,000 target
Normally we're all about team work but over the next 12 months, Team DCT will be going head to head to see who can raise the most funds towards our whopping £10,000 target. Bring it on, I say!
Our plans of action are in progress so we won't give away too much just get but let's just say... it could be about to get messy around here...
Although we're using a little healthy competition to fuel our fire, we are united in our passion for TCT and everything we do will be going towards their fantastic work so we'd be chuffed if you could help boost our balance.
